It kept me entertained for sure.

Blair witch meets a hiker blog sweetened with a bit of sci-fi!! I loved every second!! W

I really enjoy the uneven quality of the segways to the continuation of the story from the female interviewer. That effect by purpose or serendipity encourages me to listen with more intention and it gives it a spooky/mysterious quality. The interviews are real to me... they have that ‘ten...Read full review »

There is a story here, but the acting and the story presented isn’t great. The story could go deeper and the ending is just bad. It’s like creator could figure out how to keep the story going. Flesh out your stories first.

The series is so dramatic and suspenseful that it reminds me of those classic horror movie and stranger things which is the beginning theme of it. Great Work!

I thought it was really cute. I wish there were more. I enjoyed it

The bear sounds fake and robotic but great story line and i like the plot

I hate to see all the hate here. It seems like this podcast is a first timers and that’s okay! For someone who hasn’t been doing podcasts for years, I think they’ve done really well. Things may be spotty here and there but they’ve really got a wonderful story here. Good job guys, keep it up!

Ugh
Just not good.... like at all... the latest episode sealed the deal for me.

Creative storyline! Great voice acting!
Leovys via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/17/20
I wanted to like this, but I couldn’t stick it out past episode 2. The audio is uneven. Loud in some spots barely audible in others. The acting is subpar. The story didn’t hold together.
Z&RMom via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/15/20
The story line is pretty interesting. Acting is awful and I hate that the episodes are so short! It’s pretty frustrating that it’s only 12 or so minutes!
Rena•Ash via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/14/20
The sound editing in this show is awful. I have my volume at 100% and can still barely hear certain parts. And it’s not my headphones as I don’t have this problem with any other podcast. The story is great though, the acting not so much. But that’s okay.

I started listening to this podcast when the 2nd episode came out and I’ve been obsessed with it ever since. The audio effects and writing are quite good considering that the show creators and actors are late high school/early college students and it impresses me quite a bit. Some of the...Read full review »

Meh
I really wanted to give this 2.5 stars. The concept is ok, but a lot of the voice acting is terrible.
Chuck-me via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/07/20
Look it’s not polished/not Uber professional, but it’s free, there is a story and some of the acting is alright. It’s entertaining! I’m giving it three stars because these guys should keep going and keep improving. If they do, they’ll start doing really awesome stuff, I reckon.
Shleepy374 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/06/20
I’ve listened to two episode. The dialogue is poor and the acting is worse. The narrator was supposed to be a journalist but she openly mocked her interviewees and came off as an elitist. The writer preached most of the time instead of telling a story.
red foz via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/06/20
I’m on the third episode... while the storyline seems to have potential, the voice acting is so atrocious it’s distracting enough to make me miss the plot. Seems as if the actors are reading the script for the first time ever.
NikWinters via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/06/20
I find the story interesting but I wish there was more. I don’t see 11 mins an enjoyable thing to listen to. I want to know more. Also, it sounds scripted.
luppts via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 08/06/20
Edit: I have increased my rating for this by one star. As I have continued listening the acting and writing is getting better. Keep it up. Original Review: I really want to enjoy this because I think it has a good plot. The problem is that the dialogue isn’t believable. It doesn’t sound...Read full review »

This is NOT a documentary, but as someone who lives in Rockfish Gap myself I can tell you that this is something that very well could happen around here. There are always strange conspiracies going on.
RockfishGapFan via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/05/20
I love the twisting plot of this podcast and stellar voice acting of the cast. Each episode sounds straight out of a non-fiction, investigative podcast.

Good story but acting isn’t very good but practice makes perfect!
Josie333333 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/03/20
I really enjoyed the episodes & think it’s a great piece to listen to while driving :)
Kimbo.G 😁 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/03/20
The story line has potential to be great, but this god awful voice acting has ruined it. It feels like I’m listening to a cold read of a script from a high school theater class...
Bradymae via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/03/20
Only made it through the first episode, could not stand the bad acting
ChelleGinee via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/02/20
So scripted, it was painful to listen to.
PodcastObsessed77 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/02/20
This is the perfect way to escape our world and enter a new one of mystery, adventure and conspiracy. Wonderfully entertaining! Add it to the queue for a late night drive on a long lonely road, a moonlit walk with the dog or before you go to bed to narrate your dreams.

As a resident of Rockfish Gap and someone who was actually MARRIED in Swananoa mansion (one of very few couples btw), I’m insulted by this fictional account.
Nullity via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/31/20
At first I was really looking forward to this story, but I can’t get past how scripted this sounds. Cringe worthy.
padraigmccue via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/31/20
Wow only made it through about an episode and a half ... truly terrible waste of time

These guys killed it. I’m impressed, and they have a future in podcasting for sure. I could have never pulled this off in high school. I love the incorporation of Shenandoah NP, a gorgeous park. The southern characters are well done and cultural without being offensive (most media is horribly...Read full review »

I was hooked by the story and really enjoyed listening. Keep them coming. Podcasts are supposed to be different and independent. This is. Thank you. Looking forward to more.
katatcoast via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/31/20
Great narration and a cool storyline that runs along our real-life current events. A fun little find — glad I ignored the current rating because this is a gem!
LadyBallyhoo via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/31/20
The storyline is there but the actors are really weak and obviously “reading” instead of portraying the roles.
Firewalker918 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/30/20
My biggest issue is that I’m a Virginia local and spend a lot of time in the area in question. I don’t mind fiction but actually falsifying history. Swananoa is an actual real place and it wasn’t built by an eccentric who didn’t have a wife, it was built by Mr. Dooley for Mrs. Dooley of Maymont...Read full review »

Fictional podcasts are fine, trying to sneak it past the goalie as reality is just corny. Put the word FICTIONAL in the description.

I listened to two episodes and then stopped. Too scripted..very interview sounds like they are reading directly from a page
JJT76 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/30/20
Equal parts chilling and fantastic - makes you look over your shoulder to make sure no one’s there but keeps you listening to the very end. It is incredibly well crafted and its realism makes it all the more exciting. All it takes is closing your eyes and you’re transported to the Shenandoah...Read full review »

I was in a cabin in the woods when I found this podcast - perfect location to be spooked! Excited to see where the story goes!

I can’t believe there are so many negative reviews! I think it’s a great show. To be clear, it is a fictional podcast produced entirely by kids. I think folks are being very harsh considering this is their first attempt. It’s an interesting concept too!
foreignphysics via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/29/20
Update—these dumb criticisms that the show is “fiction” and “scripted” and “made by kids”...well, yeah. Get a life and Wikipedia the term “realistic fiction,” cuz you need both. A blend of true crime, classic suspense, and humor with allusions to American folklore and a wink at modern times,...Read full review »

No.
Sounds like grandma helped out with the voice over production. Not professional and definitely not worth a listen.
PKP33 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/29/20
Interesting story; but, ultimately too scripted and flat to be reality.
Steph5champagne via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/29/20
UnderRated, OverCriticized independent podcast made by a group of high school students is a really fun listen - just too many people treating it like it’s a CORPORATE-backed production can be a real downer. Keep up the good work✌️~

Wow
I looove that’s they are kids and not just random adults I can tell it’s scripted but honestly don’t care🤣😃

I think the fact this was done by kids in Highschool is phenomenal, you could nit pick them if you want but that’s very petty. This podcast started out okay but the voice acting is mediocre at best. The sound and score are great. The big issue is that it is very much a rip off of LimeTown in tone, style etc... but not nearly as well acted or produced, the characters aren’t very interesting but the concept holds up.
