“Many things about this show really rubbed me the wrong way - the way Nacho is used as a pawn in this narrator’s effort to make peace with her own past, her ignorance of other cultures (try learning basic Spanish or at least bring along a translator for all visits, not just one), or the narrators presentation and focus on aspects of those who are “other” from her...and more. It felt more like she was on a “journey” and used this man’s story to find some sort of comfort about herself, not really tell HIS story. I guess she does say something to that effect in the opening title but it still felt off-putting.
Also the woman’s voice who did the ads was annoying as hell. She sounded like a whiney stereotypical caricature of a millennial.”
