Welcome to the Room! This week we dive into a question we raised last episode: How should I go about discerning when I am being tested and when I am being tempted? We spend the beginning of our time going through a bible study about what the Word says about times of testing and tempting and how they differ. This study will help us understand why God tests us and why we get tempted. We also talk about different strategies we each use in our own lives when we feel we are being tempted or are going to be tempted.  Scripture: (We used the Christian Standard Bible CSB in our study today) Deuteronomy 8:2 - Moses writing to Israel before they enter the promised land reminding them of how God has tested them and provided in the past. Matthew 4:1-11 - Jesus being tempted in the wilderness. Hebrews 2:14-18 - Explanation on the significance of Jesus being tempted and how that can help us in our own temptation. James 1:1-15 - The central scripture of our episode this week, teaching us that God himself does not tempt us and how his discipline through trials and testing produces maturity and endurance.
