“Freedman is the most depressing “analyst” in the industry, bar none. He steers into being the resident curmudgeon, when any human being should conceivably run the other direction upon realizing that he/she is regarded as the antidote to good times. The only element of the RV oligarchy that bothers me more is the reverence paid to the dude that a decade ago penned the seminal masterpiece, “Uh…I think I like drafting WR’s ahead of RB’s.” Yes, once in a while this positional lean pays off. And more often than not, it doesn’t (see: relative drop-off in point production across the individual positional cohorts). It’s statistically impossible that EVERY lackey in this regime signs-off on Zero-RB…which makes me think they are waterboarded into compliance with the bizarre company line. Dissent warrants a beheading in the Rotoviz Colisseum and subsequent stringing-up of the body to dissuade other Viz minions from branching out and offering any modicum of support for the running back position. It would be refreshing to hear just ONE martyr break free from the tyranny and acknowledge that the entire ideological foundation upon which this enterprise rests is quantifiably shaky.”
