I was drawn to this podcast for the episode with Lucy Prebble because she’s a genius. The two lads hosting have great insights but my goodness I’m fed up of men inviting experts on their chatty podcast and talking over them. Obviously it’s especially aggravating when that guest *happens to be* a...Read full review »

Particularly loved the Rutles episode with Kevin Eldon and also Eddie Izzard on John Lithgow, an actor I’d previously known very little about. Enthusiasm and love bursting from the speakers.

I really enjoyed this podcast.

Please, pretty please, bring us more episodes as soon as humanly possible. I love this show, it’s absolutely genius and incredibly difficult to listen to without laughing out loud (draws attention on public transport and when at work!).

I thoroughly enjoyed Rule Of Three from the moment I first discovered it. Always interesting, often hilarious. I’ve discovered comedy shows and books through this podcast that I’d previously never heard of but which went on to become favourites. Sure, sometimes the guest’s enduring love for...Read full review »

This demonstrably boring podcast shows why mean are weird. Try being funny normally, you dysfunctional bellowing slabs. You are scary and odd

So many comedians, so much information that allows you to understand comedians on a much deeper level. Just can’t believe nobody has suggested Robin Williams!

My favourites are about things I already know and love, but even random things I’ve never heard of provide good pod fodder. One episode inspired me to get my dad the box set of Frazier. He loved it! Thanks Rule of Three!

This shouldn’t work. Deconstructing comedy can be such a bore but this is as insightful as it is amusing. Real nostalgia hit too, when the topic is known.

Initially found it off-putting how much one of the hosts talks, but have realised that this podcast talks about some really interesting rules and theories on writing and comedy and also bigger themes. Really enjoying it.

An enjoyable insight into the comedy writing world. Am hoping you guys are coming back soon.

This podcast is a great concept, funny and an interesting insight into comedic writing. BUT, and it’s a huuuge BUT, there is a distinct lack of diversity here. Not a single black guest in all of their 65 episodes and I don’t really think that’s acceptable. I really hope this changes for future...Read full review »

Made me go back a revisit and re-appreciate some great shows

If you are interested in why things are funny at all you should listen to all of these. Hearing funny people explain what they appreciate and learned from classics unpacks a huge amount of so structural information that you just don’t get when people talk about themselves or works that haven’t...Read full review »

A neat idea, well done and with a great range of guests. If you like comedy then it’s a no brainer, and if you *love* comedy you’ll probably wet yourself.

RO3 is always worth a listen, even if you don’t know the subject or guests. I like the way that you never know what direction the shows are going to go in, or how much is actually going to be about the proffered subject. Some are funny, some not but most are insightful. More, please!

Are some words I know. Fortunately they are all words that are useful to describe these podcasts. The passion for the craft of comedy writing and the insights that are offered from presenters and guests make for a stimulating listen. When the topic hits something you know well, this is absolutely perfect. When it doesn’t, it makes you want to find the beloved thing and learn to love it too. Every time I listen I glean something about the world of comedy that helps my ... practice? Would that be the word? But also, hugely...Read full review »

This pod has quickly become one of my firm favourites - one that I look forward to each week. The Joe Thomas episode discussing The Office is a must-listen for any fan of comedy.

Brilliant work, anyone interested in comedy, or who just enjoys listening to kind, warm, smart people discussing something they live should subscribe.

A peak of my week, when it lands on Thursday I love discovering what this week's guest is talking about. Favourite episode - Kevin Eldon’s on the Rutles, just for the wonderful George Martin impression. But love them all.Read full review »

My favourite podcast and one of my favourite things. It’s so joyous to listen to a couple of hours of sheer informed enthusiasm and has taught me so much about writing.

This is such a compelling podcast. The hosts wear their considerable knowledge very lightly and their enthusiasm for the subject matter is always charming.

The Rutles episode with Kevin Eldon is one of the most delightful listens of my life.

Of all the podcasts I listen to, this is the one that I’d most like to be in the room for. The hosts’ technical perspective on comedy is perfectly balanced with what is clearly pure enjoyment of and respect for comedy and all those who make it. I’ve discovered so many things I hadn’t heard of...Read full review »

This is the podcast I look forward to most each week. Even if it’s something I know nothing about, or previously merely thought was ok, I end up wanting to see/hear it again. It’s full of enthusiasm as knowledge, and of course it’s very funny.
Moose Allain via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/20/20
This podcast is ok, it’s always been a bit self indulgent but the episode about Ever Deceasing Circles was more about themselves than the show, the contributors cutting across each other in wallowing anecdotes about their own writing. Couldn’t actually finish it.... I put the Cricket Match...Read full review »

I came to this late, my gateway was seeing people talk about Charlie Brooker’s airplane episode, which as a huge fan of that film, blew me away with their joyful deconstruction of some of its best parts. I’ve then dipped into others, tending to choose the topics I can relate to, but I’m now all...Read full review »

Great podcast, even if you don’t know the subject (Ivor Cutler in my case) very insightful, great hosts, great guests, great subjects. Info-tainment at its most info-taining.

This Podcast is superb! For comedy fans and comedy nerds alike. An intelligent and fun look at a wide spectrum of comedy. Ideal for finding shows / books / films that may have passed you by. There’s no snobbery here - and all items are treated with great respect and passion. Be warned though........Read full review »

I tend to avoid podcasts by two white blokes as their voices are heard enough but this is one is brilliant. Funny and insightful. Entertaining and illuminating. I pity the man I was before I discovered this podcast, and I bitterly regret all the time I wasted when it existed but I wasn’t listening to it.
