#31 – Survival Tips for Coming Out of Your Cave
Listen now
Description
I've been in my "cave" a lot the past few years. Between COVID, family caregiving, and chronic illness, it's been easy to avoid connection and community. And in some ways it's been good. It's been a very creative period. It's helped me to figure some things out. But. I am also realizing there's healing that can only happen in community. And I also have work to do in the world that requires contact with other humans. So May has been the month of venturing out of the cave and throwing myself ungracefully back into the world of human connection. Going on vacation with friends. Sleeping on the couch of an AirBNB. Sharing a kitchen. (HUGE.) Hiking with others. Putting my slowness, my weakness, and my weirdness on full display. I have definitely made mistakes and been a jerk. But I've also learned A TON. Stuff you literally can't learn on those solo spiritual getaways. So in today's episode, I talk about what this part of my healing journey — that is happening in community — is revealing. And also share some survival tips for those of you who need a little help coming out of the cave.
