“I love SNL. I haven’t missed an episode in at least 20 years. I really like this podcast too but when the SNL hosts or performers are diverse, the guys come off flippant (in my opinion).
I can understand not knowing who someone is but they regularly mispronounce names when all they have to do is pull up a video of someone else saying their name. They go on and on and on and on about how they don’t know this person. I get it: it’s not their scene and they’re FAR removed from this culture and that’s okay. But it also seems like,as a recapper, they’d want to have a very base familiarity of who they’re critiquing.
I’m old school and you couldn’t pay me to listen to a lot of stuff but they could at least IMDB the host/performer to inform a statement like “I’m not familiar with this person but I looked them up and they have a long list of accomplishments in this way or that.” (Or whatever).
It sounds like I’m slamming them but I’m not. Just my opinion. Other than that they do a great job!!”
