Fun and Informative
I’ve been loosely following Katelyn Beaty’s work since her CT days and have always appreciated her insight and perspective on the various happenings among American Christians. So when I found out she had a podcast, I easily decided to check it out. I’ve now been listening to this podcast for about a year and every episode has been intriguing and insightful. Even topics that don’t initially captivate my interest by the title have engaged me the more I listen and enhanced my curiosity. I like that I hear well informed interviews with people from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and areas of expertise. And perhaps what I like the most that keeps this podcast unique from others I listen to is the undergirding of Katelyn and Roxy’s friendship. They share and ask questions to each other as friends that have done the work together to develop trust and deeper knowing of the other, and they engage conversationally around important topics from that depth while also remaining professional. It’s a hard balance to strike as a journalist and podcast host, I imagine, of how much personal life to share while reporting and engaging various areas of study, and I think Katelyn and Roxy do an excellent job of finding the right mix to engage our minds, hearts, and souls as an integrated whole in a meaningful way.

My spouse and my mother are both pastors and I have grown up in a changing Christian culture. I love how honest and vulnerable Roxy and Kaitlyn are when they talk about issues of faith, how the church has failed and supported them, and what it means to live as a Christian who is open to learning...Read full review »
