“I love this podcast. utterly laugh out loud hilarious and just kept getting better Under it all though is the reality that real women suffer at the hands of these scammers so it’s great to see “Barb” getting one back. 😁👍”

“I was interested in the idea, scamming the scammer - but the fake high pitched voice and long boring phone conversations just get boring.
The real life stories and context is good but just can’t stand that voice.
It started out funny but after a few minutes I was annoyed with both of them!...”Read full review »

“What’s going on with this podcast? I was SO looking forward to some Barb action in her very own podcast! And it was an entire podcast of my favourite Dr Phil episodes! All devoted to scammers! And even better, scamming them back! But there was than the intro episode and then nothing more! I know...”Read full review »

“I really enjoyed this podcast and even had a little chuckle at times. I gasped when I heard that hugesy was coming on as the housekeeper. I was really excited to see how that would play out with him playing a lady. My only slight criticism was that barb’s voice came across as very helpless. Now I...”Read full review »
“Great idea for a podcast but the fake old lady voice irritated me to the point where I can’t listen to it anymore.
I don’t understand the need for it, Kate could have just used her normal voice. Unsure if it is an attempt at humour, but I couldn’t bear listening to it anymore.”
“Absolutely insulting to the people who have been genuinely ripped off and shared their story. The hideous voice completely detracted from what could have been an interesting story, I couldn’t finish the series.”

The five star reviews and the one star reviews are all correct: this is at times funny and interesting, and at other times cringy and tedious. As a whole, it doesn’t actually work. “Carey”, who appears to have much to learn about wooing women for real or pretend, obviously begins...”Read full review »
“The interviews are really interesting, being able to hear what the scammer says it’s really interesting but the voice that Kate puts on for Barb is almost done unbearable to listen to and grates on your brain”
“This promised to be a really interesting and funny podcast, but ended up being the exact opposite. The interesting and compelling interviews with women who had been scammed were undermined by an irritating and contrived set up to catch a scammer. Kate's impression of a mature lady falling for...”Read full review »

“Interviews with victims are good. Kate’s characters voice grated on me after a while.
There is some interesting reading over in the Hall of Shame at 419eater.com which posts stories about scamming the scammer which some of the listeners to this podcast may enjoy.”

“Started with promise but the fake voice the host puts on was unbearable to listen to. There should have been more focus on the facts about scams and scammers and less of the boring and poorly improved old lady impression.”
“I think the 1 star raters don’t realise this started as comedy skit on Australian radio, the interviews & info on scammers is added on. It can be a bit jarring the 2 opposites of seeing the cruel/ sad side to the funny side but I rather enjoy it!”

“This show is good for a laugh while being incredibly interesting. The whole mystic of “what does an online scammer sound like” has been tapped into and broadcast right to our ears, without a single soul being negatively affected. This is why it’s ok to have a laugh here. Yes the subject matter...”Read full review »
