Community College Grad Here
I just finished listening to part 1 of your community college episode, and I am fascinated to hear what you’ll cover in part 2. As a student athlete and student body president, I had a unique view into what the “adults” were doing politically within the institution. While I was still incredibly idealistic at the time, I received a real world education on power play between the college’s president and the district’s superintendent— both of whom seemed to be more interested in using the system as a stepping stone to their next accomplishment than necessarily the benefit of the college or students therein. As a Political Science major, for example, I ended up having to get one of my basic general ed courses waived because it was never offered in my two years of attendance. I think the course was World Politics? Anyhow, I’m now an attorney and a homeschool mom, and so I enjoy your podcast. Cheers!

Veinotte sheds light on an avoided subject of school's "side-effects" while remaining entertaining and presenting the information in an accesible manner through interesting and...Read full review »
