Many varied topics of interest
As a long-time reader of "Scientific American" magazine, I naturally find this podcast of interest. The show features a wide variety of topics and interviews, as well as the fun feature, "Totally Bogus." Unfortunately, the host often "talks down" to select members of the audience, making insulting assumptions. For example, Steve is frequently snickering with his guests about religious people and their Neanderthal beliefs. The point of this escapes me. Religious Neanderthals aren't listening. And religious people like me--not a Neanderthal--are offended. But if you can get past the "we're so smart, it's just amazing" self-congratulatory banter, the show is worth a listen.Read full review »

I've stopped listening to this podcast and will let my print subscription lapse. Every since the change in the magazine editor, the depth and quality of the articles and podcasts has declined. I love the SciAm Magazine, but so far this podcast is a little too unengaging...and Goretex is used in grafts for dialysis patients... I did like the CSI Reality at the end; but it's not really in the same category as the rest of it...Read full review »
