This is exactly what I love in forms of entertainment. Putting science to popular media is a brilliant format and is the greatest one in my opinion. And some of the stuff I have learned I've used in exams, class, and in real life.Read full review »

A really great find this one. Both hosts are funny and manage to make complicated subjects interesting and entertaining. Really like the little move/sound clips also! They haven’t recorded since lockdown though, come back guys! We need funny podcasts ☺️

Great show. This pair of naughty, naughty b*****ds present science and fiction in a thoroughly enjoyable fashion.

Michael and Rick are very engaging and clearly have an interest in producing entertaining content. First came across Dr Michael Brooks (on the George Lamb Show, still miss this with Marc and the disco train) he and a number of other contributors were great value it’s a shame some of those don’t...Read full review »

Entertaining, informative and funny with a wide and sometimes tenuous link to movies, tv books but never a play What’s not to like

Great show! Really well researched with a straightforward format. Rick and the doc also have great “chemistry”. I’m now running out of episodes please make more!!!

I found the book last year and loved it, so now I listen to these guys on my commute. The book is great and the podcast is even better. I quite literally laugh out loud in the car frequently while also learning a lot. Keep it up guys!

If you’ve ever been a fan of science? If you’ve ever been a fan of Physics? If you’re interested in Quantum mechanics? This is not for you (your specialist in your own right) If your a fan of expanding your knowledge and looking at a different way of looking at the topics they discuss then this...Read full review »

They speak with a tone of authority in many fields they simply don’t deserve.

Love this podcast, found it through RHLSTP and working my way through the back issues. I was disappointed when they cut it short for series 3, I really enjoyed the three questions and all the different experts they spoke to. I hope they change it back!

Turns subjects like dystopian futures, super volcanos and the horror of A.I. gone wrong into such fun! Very informative too. Good mix of banter and serious science. Good work!
Albert Thingy via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/10/19
I love this podcast. Incredibly well researched, informative but really humorous too. Good chemistry between presenters. Some of the episodes are terrifying as they hint at a dystopian future. Alien invasion, killer viruses, super volcanos, AI world domination etc. All good fun!

This is a brilliant podcast but 6 mins of ads before it even starts (and more in the middle) it beyond a joke. Seriously. SIX MINUTES

New format once per week and more focused (one question) is making me into a regular listener! Keep it up!
Anova user via Apple Podcasts · Switzerland · 03/19/18
I’ve listened to two episodes (flatliners and limitless) and I’m loving it but I’m not sure if I can carry on as the high pitched constant ‘sci fi sound effects’ are actually painful to listen to through headphones and I can’t lower the volume as then I can’t hear the discussion. Is it just me?...Read full review »

Intelligent, indeed academic, conversations in a relaxed, engaging and entertaining format. It brings high falutin stuff to the mid week dinner table.

Early days but have been some great moments so far. Drifts between serious scientific discussion and veering on Ali G style interviews with prominent experts. Thoroughly enjoyed every episode and looking forward to more. Lots of potential here.

Really enjoy this show. A brilliant combination of genuinely interesting science, answers to questions sci-fi that you’ve always wanted to know, and some very funny moments. Highly recommended.

So I'm moving storage unit (100 sq ft) by myself, so I treated myself to this podcast!
