We are familiar with the struggle and heartbreak of the writers when a film gets shelved, but we seldom get to know about the hard work put behind by the development team to get a project together. We discuss his journey from working as an Assistant Director on Anurag Kashyap's Gangs Of Wasseypur to working as the Digital Marketing Manager on films like Masaan, Newton, Lipstick Under My Burkha, The World Before Her and early days of the famous blog Passion For Cinema.

In this part we discuss — will AI take over social media marketing in future, commerce vs aesthetics of a film poster, the process of designing posters for Newton & Aamis, and the ultimate battle between a Director and Marketing team. We also get into how his endeavour of archiving the legacy of Indian Film Posters turned into an Instagram page: Posterphilia, and in addition to all of the above, his experience of working as a Subtitler on films like Badhai Ho, Shakuntla Devi and many more.

In this part, we discuss his foray into the world of movies and what does it take for an aspiring assistant director to make a mark, what lies ahead in the journey of an AD, and the very important learnings Prince had in his career along with many more fun anecdotes.

Our guest for today's episode has a filmography that's made in the dreams, from working with Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti, Brad Bird to Christopher 'God' Nolan, Prince Shah has worked as an Assistant Director with this envious list of directors! His career spans over a decade and there was a lot to cover, hence we have split it into two parts. 

In this part, we discuss life on the sets of Gully Boy, Prince's first encounter with Christopher Nolan, how he came of age while working on Reema Kagti's Talaash, and the role of an Assistant Director and where do they fit in the process of filmmaking.

In the introduction episode, we do a deep dive into behind the scenes of movie marketing and in the process introduce ourselves and the podcast. I, Sagar Shah, an ex-CA student decided to drop-out and leave a finance career to join the movies and in this episode we discuss my journey so far. We discuss the marketing campaigns of films like Newton, Lipstick Under My Burkha, Kaamyaab and others. Is negative publicity good publicity, do producers plant the controversy around the court cases right before the film's release, why are actors tired of movie promotions,  do item numbers necessarily translate into a film's box-office success, are some of the many questions we try to address in this episode.
