Typical NPR fare.
If you’ve listened to one segment by NPR, you’ve listened to them all. This podcast falls right in line with the standard NPR presentation, i.e. overly inflected, palatable center-left discourse that provokes little thought. A topical discussion analogous to a coffee table book: flashy with little substance. This podcast (as well as most content created by NPR) is perfect for the more affluent 20 to 40 somethings looking to chat over an $8 coffee before working on their dissertation on something that sounds important but lacks any real world applicability or tangible benefit. This work being spread across a multitude of devices - tablets, smartphones, laptops, wireless earbuds. The best aspect of this podcast is that it offers topics for which one can then do their own research - actually bite into and chew the topic rather than nibble while trying to look pretty.
