Host is in too deep not to pursue an unsupported line of enquiry
Suicide is an extraordinarily difficult event for loved ones. For some, they may never be able to accept that someone they loved decided to end their life. This podcast has not presented any credible evidence of homicide. A substandard police investigation (if that is even the case) is not evidence that the deceased did not die by suicide. Relying in part on the memory of the person who reported the event initially as evidence of a cover up is not sensible given the known and accepted unreliability of eyewitness testimony more broadly. What do we know for sure? Suicide occurs at a much, much higher rate than homicide. In the absence of credible evidence to the contrary, this is the likely explanation. Occam’s Razor. The host’s belligerence despite expert opinion and known facts is uncomfortable to listen to. This is a disappointing ‘investigation’ from one of the hosts of the excellent The Lady Vanishes podcasts.
