Music too loud & long intervals
Bumpydog2000 via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/29/24
This story is fascinating and heartbreaking, it is produced and narrated so well and the music is great. All of this together has probably made it one of the best podcasts I’ve listened to. It a really eye opening story and I really feel for all those that were involved - it was a ripple effect...Read full review »

Keep your finger on the volume broom while listening to this podcast. It is an excellently written and gripping account of a heinous miscarriage of Justice. Unfortunately it is regularly interrupted by loud, obnoxious heavy metal theme music. So unnecessary and really ruins the listening experience.

Listened to the first two episodes. So good. A great sound, running seamlessly. I kind of know the story but I can see already that this podcast offers so much more. Can’t wait for the next ep

I do approx 6 hrs of trail running every week so I listen to and consume a lot of podcasts! Shreds is one of the best series I’ve listened to in a long time! Superbly well constructed this podcast entwines the listener with the story throughout and ties all the complex material into a gripping...Read full review »

I was born in the Docks in the early 80’s and knew of the story. Listening to it now I can’t believe some of the things that took place. A must listen, such a miscarriage of justice.

I have read many books and this podcast is spot on! After watching the documentary I was horrified to see how these people were treated. The best podcast I’ve heard. Would love to hear more about Welsh crimes like Geraldine Paulk

This would have to be one of my all time favourite podcasts. This story is almost unbelievable, the injustice is extraordinary, and it just goes on, and on, and on. Highly recommend.

If you liked ‘when they see us’ then you will love this. I couldn’t stop listening. It’s hard to hear at times, I felt really frustrated and angry hearing elements of the story. But well done to the team that made this as it really is a brilliant series.

A shocking and disturbing story that needs to be heard. Fantastically well-told, informative and real. Listen.

Ceri Jackson has done a stellar job of bringing together all the elements of this complicated historic case. The police of South Wales who were complicit in fitting up the Cardiff 5 should be utterly ashamed but I bet they don’t care how many lives they’ve ruined. I wouldn’t be surprised if the...Read full review »

I live in Cardiff and I remember the press coverage of the murder and as usual the whole story was reported in a biased way. This is a brilliant pod cast I experienced feelings of sadness, anger and disbelief, I’ve always thought the British justice system was something to be respected but it...Read full review »

This podcast is exceptional. The witness accounts and story is mind blowing. It’s incredibly sobering what happened to these five men.
Designz 86 via Apple Podcasts · South Africa · 02/09/21
An outstanding, measured and incredibly sensitive and thought provoking exploration of a miscarriage of justice. Also personalising someone previously labelled and almost dismissed just as a “Cardiff Prostitute” made the powerful point that it is all too simple to judge others.
Steve A Bath via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 01/10/21
I’ve listened to a lot of podcasts and this one stands out head and shoulders above this rest. Such a shocking story for multiple reasons but told in such an engrossing manner by the brilliant Ceri Jackson. So many lessons to learn for this tragic story.

Brilliantly done, being a Canadian I wasn’t familiar with this story, yet another injustice against young men of colour. I hope as a society we learn lessons from each of these terrifying stories. Important listening and so well done, thank you Ms Jackson and BBC.

What a well told and unbelievable story. One of the best crime podcasts i’ve ever listened to. The story is so good, yet so wrong, but you cant wait to play the next episode.

Story was slow to start, but really couldn’t stop listening after Episode 2. Excellent Podcast! Shame on the British Justice System and the Police. RIP Lynette White.
PFLANO via Apple Podcasts · Ireland · 05/09/20
So awful for all the 5 men and their families. The injustice and the suffering for all those years undoubtedly caused the early deaths of two of the men and and parents of others. You can see how easily this can happen and how is must never be allowed to happen again.

So many twists and turns Such a brilliant podcast. I wouldn’t have believed it if someone told me this story. Miscarriage of justice once again. Well done BBC

What a superb series this has been. I used to work near Bute Street when the five were arrested and it seemed to be common knowledge that it was a fit up. It must have been horrendous for the five and they have never really got justice. Thankyou for highlighting this absolute miscarriage of justice
Neil Machen via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 04/10/20
How I have never heard of this case before? The first podcast I have listened to from start to finish in one go. Riveting. The police investigating the first suspects should be ashamed of themselves.
Hole Punch via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/20/20
Shame they didn’t provide more info on poor Lynette - although the podcast was excellent, I felt that L was ignored beyond the details of her murder.
Cloviscrun via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 03/17/20
Loved this podcast but was very sad and made me really angry:( Still hard to believe that this happened. Awful the way the victim kept being referred to as a prostitute, she was a young woman first and foremost. The ‘investigation’ signifies the worse kind of behaviour, just deplorable really....Read full review »

Love-2-loop via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/29/20
Great podcast, well researched. Such a sad miscarriage of justice. Only complaint I have is the annoying use of random background music, it adds very little to the story and at times is so loud it distracts from the important points being made.
Levecar via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 02/24/20
A multi faceted factual (!) account of tragic events. Which hugely begs why no one, in the law, has been held to account. I wish the book of the lead police officer who investigated the corruption could also be heard, to get some closure for more impacted individuals. Let this not be the last...Read full review »

Very well written and produced. Totally gripping. It’s almost impossible to believe that the police officers involved faced no consequences for their odious, self motivated behaviour.

This has it all. A story of injustice that hooks you from the start; clear and well written narration interspersed with moving accounts from those involved and archive audio; appropriate and excellent music. I binged it in 2 days.

I was born in 1975 in Cardiff and remember all this going on. Never really understood the whole story. Thanks for doing this podcast never thought that this could happen in the UK never mind Cardiff. Justice for these men !

Amazing podcast. Well written and documented. First class journalism and presentation. Sadness that innocent lives were thrown into turmoil. I didn’t think this could happen within the British justice system.

I listened to this podcast months ago but I still think about it regularly. I’d never heard the story before and I still can’t believe it isn’t a national scandal. I really hope there is a documentary/film made about this case. The story needs to be told to as many as possible.
