Cancer Chats w/ Friends Ep:06 Shreya Chopra

Cancer Chats w/ Friends Ep:06 Shreya Chopra

Such a big part of my cancer journey so far has been the support of my friends (who live all over the world). To create transparency for fellow cancer patients and supporting friends we have created a mini-series where I have candid conversations with my friends about their experiences of processing my diagnosis with or without me. These episodes will take you on an emotional ride of genuine discussions about life, fear, mortality, and love.
In this episode, I chat with my friend Shreya Chopra. Like many of the previous episodes, she shares her experience with processing a close friend's cancer diagnosis. In this episode talk a lot about communicating and learning to be there for one another, this is actually a live conversation of us working through differences on how we both approached the friendship during the first couple of months of my diagnosis, and I'm grateful to Shrey for being open and honest about her feelings. We have learned that we need to be more communicative with one another and are now (3 months post recording) in a healthier friendship thanks to conversations like this one, and a recent visit from her to Spain :) Thank you for sharing your story, I love you.

These episodes will take you on an emotional ride of genuine discussions about life, fear, mortality, and love.
In this episode, I chat with my friend Kendall Blakeman, someone who has always been a ray of sunshine in my life and has not failed to continue to do so throughout this new phase of my life. Kendall and I met through work and have built a friendship from learning how to be more open with one another through our differences. Her experience with my diagnosis came as a shock to her just like the rest of us, however, she has been actively there to talk even when I had no words to share. Thank you for sharing your story, I love you.

To create transparency for fellow cancer patients and supporting friends we have created a mini-series where I have candid conversations with my friends about their experiences of processing my diagnosis with or without me. These episodes will take you on an emotional ride of genuine discussions about life, fear, mortality, and love.
In this episode, I chat with my friend Cathal (Catty) Berragan. We became friends through work, and through countless hours of long projects and nights out we have created a relationship like siblings. Catty has been a key pillar in my life to keep me grounded, stoic, and realistic. Also, personal skills have come to life through this chapter of my life. His experience with my diagnosis was not an easy one as he was also facing similar news from a close family member. Thank you for sharing your story, I love you.

In this episode, I chat with my friend Katey Hannaby, who was one of my closest friends living in New York. We met through work and ended up becoming roommates without really knowing each other. I have learned so much from her on how to become more emotionally aware of myself and others, something that has really helped me with my processing experience in this chapter of my life. A powerful story packed with life lessons that transcend illness

Ro’s story is incredibly powerful and deeply moving. This podcast is a refreshingly honest window into the life of someone struggling with a life altering illness. The good, the bad, and the beautiful. The storytelling is raw, brave, and powerful—seriously emotional but infused with moments of lighthearted humor. You’re going to laugh. You’re going to cry. You’re going to learn. And you bet you’re going to go on a deep introspective journey. So, buckle up.

Raw, emotive, powerful, and moving

A thoughtful and compelling meditation on life, grief, and the struggles of cancer. Rocio is poignant, raw and as honest as they come. I would recommend anyone tune into her beautiful podcast.
