No voice warm-ups?
Every single YouTube video, every single instructor, and any person in the singing career will tell you that you simply MUST do vocal warm ups (many people say at least 15 minutes or longer), and I notice that in the intro to this podcast - at least in Episode 289: 4 More Easy Tips To Sing Better and Release Tension - the hostess says “… without any vocal warm-ups …”. If you try to sing without warming your voice up, it can cause PERMANENT damage, and leave you with a scratchy voice - even if you only sing along with your favorite songs in the car on your daily commute! I am not saying that anything the hostess says is wrong in any way, or that I am an expert on singing - I have just started listening to this podcast in hopes to get tips to help expand my vocal range - but if you want to sing, it is highly advisable that you warm your voice up with simple siren warm-ups, scales, or any other tried and true vocal warm up technique. This is simply safety advice, and it is possible you can sing without first warming your voice up, but in that way, you can cause more damage to your voice than you are able to: A) Expand vocal range, B) Sing clearer, and/or C) Improve vocal quality; and may even cause, as aforementioned, permanent damage to your voice.
