    Children of the Corn

    Children of the Corn

Katie and special guest/sister-in-spirit Julie re-watch the movie that scared us all as kids: Children of the Corn! It's a movie all about how if you're dating a jerk named Burt, you will absolutely end up choosing to deal with the Kid Nation corn cult kids instead. Come along as we meet those little rapscallions who all agreed to murder their elders so they could worship corn! The children are led by Isaac, a guy with a wicked hat who would steal the show on an Andy Cohen reunion show. His right hand child/man is Malachai, a guy who is definitely over 19 but all the other kids seem to have just let that slide cause well, he's the tallest. When Vicky and Burt, a couple with no self-preservation skills, head into town the corn kids get their world rocked and their religion burned to the ground - literally! We've got death, cults, psychic children, and corn... Lots and lots of corn. Released in 1984, it was based on a short story (yeah we could tell) by horror master himself: Stephen King!

    Bring It On

    Bring It On

Katie and Bridget show their spirit fingers as they re-watch the nostalgic 2000's movie: Bring It On! It's a movie all about how our country was built on the backs of cultural appropriation and racism... But via cheerleading! YEAH! Come along as we meet Torrance (Ta-Ta-Ta-Torrance), newly elected high school cheerleading captain who's looking to bring her team to victory yet another year in a row. But when new recruit Missy (she's the poo - take a whiff) joins the team, Torrance quickly learns that her entire cheerleading life was a LIE! And that their teams cheers were all stolen from the East Compton Clovers, with the worst offense of all being that: They stole the cheers from Gabrielle Union. Will the white cheerleaders learn to make up their own shit on their way to finals? .... Well not right away but eventually, sure! And will the East Compton Clovers win the national 1st place trophy that they've deserved this entire time!? .... OBVIOUSLY YES - DID YOU SEE THEIR ROUTINE!? Released in 2000, it stars Kirsten Dunst, Eliza Dushku, Gabrielle Union, and Jesse Bradford.

    Face/Off

    Face/Off

Katie and Bridget swap faces as they re-watch the insane 90's movie: Face/Off! It's a movie all about how your tax payer dollars are going towards secret underground face swapping science and technology that will ONLY be used to help cops trick the brothers of terrorists into confessing where a bomb is... But seriously, that's actually the plot guys! Come along as we meet Sean Archer (aka John Travolta), a cop out for vengeance against the terrorist Castor Troy (aka Nicolas Cage) who killed his son. When given the chance to literally swap faces, John Travolta says - sure! - becoming John Nick Cage. Then, to no ones surprise, Nicolas Cage wakes up and decides to then become Nick John Travolta and shenanigans ensue! This movie (which is really more like 4 movies rolled into one) leaves us with many questions such as: Should everyone have a secret hand shake to identify one another in the chance there are face swaps? Would you be able to recognize your partner based on their genitals? And most importantly - have the Kardashians already lived through the plot of this movie multiple times without us knowing!? Released in 1997, it was directed by John Woo and stars John Travolta,  Nicolas Cage, Joan Allen, Alessandro Nivola, Gina Gershon, and Dominique Swain.

    Oscars 2024: NOstalgic Happy Hour

    Oscars 2024: NOstalgic Happy Hour

Katie and Bridget frantically get free trials for random streaming channels to watch The 96th Academy Awards - aka The Oscars! Come hear all about the fashion, the winners, the losers, the drammaaaaaaaa (there was lots), and of course the things that made us rage - hey, Barbie lost everything okay! Give us a break! A night of majesty lead us to ask the real questions, such as: Was Al Pacino drunk when doing his presenting? Should Ryan Gosling do a song and dance number at every Oscars ceremony? Were all the writers and video editors fired before the ceremony leading to awkward jokes and no montages? And... When will Jimmy Kimmel finally just embrace his former "Man Show" involvement and stop making dad jokes!? All this more during this month's NOstalgic Happy Hour!

    Camp Nowhere

    Camp Nowhere

Katie and Bridget head off to an unsupervised summer camp run by literal children as they re-watch the movie: Camp Nowhere! It's a movie all about how adults are dumb, Nerf Guns rule, and lighting fireworks while jumping into a lake actually looks fun - AKA: this was made in the 90s! Come along as we meet Mud, a kid who is a nerd but is also best friends with the coolest kids in school (we don't get it either). Him and his group of friends decide to trick their parents into sending them to a summer camp with no adults. Oh except for Christopher Lloyd, who may or may not be drunk the entire time... BUT he was blackmailed into it, so whose really at fault here? The kids discover that doubling down and performing an Ocean's 11 heist to swindle your parents will end up earning you a lot of friends and will somehow keep you from being held responsible for your own actions! 90s! Just when you thought Kid Nation and Lord of the Flies had gone too far, here comes Camp Nowhere! Released in 1994, it stars Jonathan Jackson, Christopher Lloyd, Andrew Keegan, Marnette Patterson, Melody Kay, M. Emmet Walsh, and Tom Wilson.

    Aliens

    Aliens

Katie and Bridget nuke the planet from orbit (its the only way to be sure), as they re-watch the 80s classic: Aliens! Ripley's back and she's more pissed off than ever! Can you blame her!? After waking from being in hyper sleep for 57 years, she gets thrust into helping a group of marines go attempt to rescue a colony that was stationed on the Alien planet - yes THAT alien planet. Basically, nobody has a good time and almost everyone dies! But don't worry because this movie is also about the power of Moms thanks to Newt, a young girl who knows more shit than you about the aliens. Ripley gives us one of the most iconic endings ever put to film as she tells the Alien mother to go eff herself while saving Newt #getawayfromheryoubitch. Released in 1986, it was written and directed by James Cameron and stars Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn, Paul Reiser, Bill Paxton, Lance Henriksen, William Hope, Jenette Goldstein, and Carrie Henn.

So good!

Bridget and Katie are the perfect pair of sisters, who give such a funny and deep dive into some of the best movies from our childhood. I love their chemistry and how each of them brings a different outlook on each movie, bringing up lots of little tidbits that I had forgotten about when I watched each movie as a kid. And I always look forward to their dad’s special quote—so funny! Keep it up sisters!

Love!

Omg I’m in love with this podcast! Listened to The Holiday, Love Actually, then Big Fat Greek Wedding.

I heart the feminism, the full-throated laughing, the witty digs that are so right on. I’m cracking up the whole time. I cannot describe how much I love and appreciate the background facts like the mini bio on Nancy Meyer. And then when their dad comes in on the Big Fat Greek Wedding episode - What?! Yes!!!!!! I couldn’t love this podcast more!!

Ladies, I love you like silky pajamas, kettle corn, and a fuzzy blanket with a movie.

More, please!!

PS - As an honest lover of language and all dialects, the Jersey coming through is pure gold.

PPS - Before Sunrise! Recently rewatched what had been a formative movie (what?!) and couldn’t believe how I ever found the male character remotely attractive. So messed up. I want to hear you break it down.

Hilarious Sisters Who Scene It

Bridget and Katie dazzle during every episode. They are so down to earth and relatable and say what everyone is thinking about every movie they discuss. Their laughs are contagious and I can’t get enough!
