This podcast is a family favorite. My sons, ages 7 and 9, request it by name. What a wonderful opportunity to expand our world view and hearts, and what a jumping point for insightful conversation at home. Thank you so much.

His end of career insights and hopes for his “new life” to come and brief talk about his background and era of Post WW2 childhood gives these Sleep Over youth a good perspective to take into their dreams!

I really appreciate the chance to connect with the folks in this podcast just by listening. A great, very Canadian approach to help us learn more about and celebrate the diversity of our country. Ms. Lee does an excellent job of guiding us through each new group experience.

I just listened to several episodes in a row - I couldn't stop. The podcast gets to the nitty gritty of these people's problems - and such an interesting set of people Sook-Yin finds!Read full review »

I love being able to get insight into the lives of all kinds of people. As a pastor (woman) I meet many interesting people and also try to help them consider a range of solutions to problems. This pod cast is very helpful.

I have recommended Sleepover to my friends. I love the creativity and the humanity in it. It's so refreshing to "meet" others who are suffering, and to in turn hear those same people reaching out and helping in return. Awesome podcast.Read full review »

The premise is so different than any other podcast that I was skeptical that it could work. But Sleepover is changing lives and I love being inspired by the guest on the show. My daily problems seem more manageable after hearing the guests bravely confront their own struggles.

I've come to realise that pretty much every problem participants bring to Sleepover boils down to connection, so no wonder baring it all with complete strangers and getting through it is so amazing! I get so excited when I see there's a new Sleepover episode, and so sad when it finishes....Read full review »

So honest and raw. The characters Sook Yin invites are all captivating in a very ordinary way. I have been raving about this show since the very first first episode. These strangers have touched my life. Thanks CBC for this amazing podcast. Can't wait for season 3Read full review »

I think it should be longer. People get there in morning say by ten then leave after dinner. I have to say I was taken in by the stories. Also maybe have everyone do something together at the end. Say ask the magic 8 ball a question. Good job Suk yin Lee Keep them coming

Suggested by NPR's The Big Listen, I rapidly devoured the first season of this CBC series and cannot wait for series two in the new year. Sleepover is my new fav for lonely times when my friends are too far away, filling a gap left by Starlee Kine's Mystery Show/Lena Dunham's Women of the Hour. Soon-Yin Lee is a superhero! The premise alone is so hopeful: three strangers (plus the host) get into a hotel room and try to understand each other. This is the kind of sweetly contrived thing that should be happening everywhere, all the time, until we all see each other clearly. It gets goofy, it gets real, it gets deep....Read full review »

I don't know how Sook-yin Lee does what she does. Put anyone else at the heart of this podcast and it would collapse in a preposterous heap in 2 minutes.
