“I listen to a lot of podcasts. Some podcasters spend hundreds of dollars on microphones and sound insulation but forget to make their voice pleasant.
The podcasters on Smart Tech Today speak with pleasing voices 85% of the time. They have vocal fry 15% of the time. That tells me they could speak with normal voices all of the time, but don’t. Do they think it sounds pleasing? Do they not know? Or do they not care? It is jarring and unpleasant to suddenly hear an unpleasant voice.
If content is good and there is a small amount of vocal fry, I usually double the playback speed using Overcast. With so many other good podcasts though, I usually unsubscribe.”
