“I love this podcast and have listened to every episode. I am truly disappointed in your approach to the story Zoo Nebraska. I can’t stand to listen to someone make justifications for his horrible behavior. Haskins’ selfish arrogance in “adopting” Rueben, creating his own little roadside zoo, then abandoning it to even less qualified fools is criminal. Not only were those chimps living miserable lives in a zoo, they died because of human incompetence. I am disturbed that you allowed Haskins to paint himself in a sympathetic light. The only potentially redeeming value of this story is if it alerts the audience to the outrageous lack of laws regarding who can “own” wild animals.”
