“Well, there we go, the end of an almost 20 year subscription to the good ship Wittertainment. (A word that comes up enough in my daily life that my fruit-based device just prompted me to use it). So sad that a team who built their magnificent podcast on the basis of listening to, and interacting with, their listeners seem unable to hear the complaints about unwanted content in the podcast’s feed.
I was on the horns of a dilemna, but on the unsolicited arrival of Shrink The Box (again!) in my favourites playlist, I have no option but to unfollow.
There is a certain irony, I feel, that in escaping the iron fist of the BBC, there appears to have been a far greater loss of editorial control.
Best of luck to all at the show.

Update: having scrolled through other reviews it seems I’m not the only one fed up with content I didn’t ask for being pushed into my feed. Come on folks, listen to your audience!
*********************
Since going commercial after leaving the BBC the show has placed an increasing emphasis on milking its listeners. The horrendously contrived “banter” in the ads and the constant ask for five star reviews is beyond painful.
I can live with it, just about.
Where I really get really frustrated, and the reason I am very close to unfollowing the show., Is when the episodes of podcasts that I chose not to follow – a deliberate choice on my part – appear in my feed.
If I wanted to listen to shrink the box, I would subscribe to shrink the box.
A significant blow to my estimation of the podcast was when an episode of a show about skin care started playing in the playlist I have created for my favourite shows.
I wrote to the show privately to politely feedback my dissatisfaction. I have received no reply and there appears to be no reduction in the number of unsolicited episodes.
I am very close to giving up after close to 20 years of loyal listening. It makes me very sad.”
