“I’ve been a fan of these two for many years, and I am a vanguardista. I really enjoy the cinema and cinema-adjacent chat. However some of the changes over the last year have been getting annoying.
Firstly, the actual quantity of content has dropped about 30% over the last year. We used to get 3 shows - 2 takes and Questions Schmestions totalling about 2.5 - 3 hours per week. Now it’s 2 shows usually about 1.5 to 2 hours.
At the same time the price has gone up 60% - completely without warning and unacknowledged.
Now it has become clear that Simon and Mark have gone on holiday (again unacknowledged) and prerecorded the show in advance - the coverage of the box office has gone and no reviews of current releases.
I would much rather they got in guest hosts and critics as they have in the past.
At the very least please be honest with us.”
