Very useful
I am almost completely new to the language and I'm following the theory that listening to a language even without understanding is useful in training your brain to get used to the frequencies of sounds, syllables and common words. This podcast is perfect for this since the speaking rate is slow but natural, the pronunciation is clear and the voices are pleasant to listen to and contain emotion and emphasis. The occasional song played are pleasant but have clear pronunciation also with uncluttered instrumental accompaniment. The use of both male and female voices is a good choice so the brain gets used to hearing the sounds in different registers and the choice of news means that even a complete newcomer to the language such as myself can sometimes pick up the topic being discussed, even if that isn't my purpose for listening yet. When my brain starts to get used to the syllables/word frequencies I might feel comfortable becoming more active in my study of the language but for now I am content to be like an infant listening to the adults talk without knowing what it all means.Read full review »

Every week The hosts select several world news stories to read in well-enunciated Spanish at a slower pace than other news podcasts. Great for intermediate level learners. I look forward to a new edition each week.
