Smart, Surprising, Funny and Real
I checked this out because I was familiar with Molly's viral Bachelor videos and wondered what she was up to now. I figured this would be a parody or jokey journey, like those satirist essays that were all the rage some years ago, where the funny person did something just to write about it. But it's not like that at all --it's about the very real issue of being 40, single, and ready to have a baby, so now what? Molly is funny but also just the right amount of nerdy, sharing her research and interviews re: studies and practices around the topics raised. The "contestant" interviews get downright poignant, as everyone discusses their lives and how they think and feel about family, fertility, making a living while pursuing the arts or other passions, and physical and mental issues that affect their decision-making. I've found it informative, touching, so funny that, during ep 21, I cried with laughter, and truly thought-provoking about an important topic that touches the lives of a lot of women I know.
