“Stumbled across this podcast, and listened to Kerry Tuckers episode. I must say, I’ve never felt so uncomfortable after finishing a podcast!!
Kerry attempts to speak about her personal experience with the prison system. Although what she did would have affected many people, she owns her story and accepts responsibility for the crime she committed. We would all have to appreciate that it would have been a traumatic time for her and her family, but the interviewer couldn’t have cared less about the steps Kerry took to get her life back on track!
The whole way through the episode, there was constant interruption from the host, and little to no interest in letting the speaker finish their sentences. Cheryl was rude, and lacked any empathy or sympathy that is required to successfully interview someone with such an interesting story. The judgement of the host was overwhelmingly obvious from the tone used when asking questions.
Unbiased journalism is not a concept in this episode, and it made me so upset how the person being interviewed was portrayed by the host. We don’t know anything about this person, or the circumstances that led her to commit the crime she did, and neither does the host. Very disappointed :(”
