    49. Its Okay To Tell a Small Story - Carla Rocha

You don’t need story mastery to be effective. You just need to tell your story.
Carla Rocha teaches communication and storytelling skills in Lisbon, Portugal. She helps people to become more authentic in their communications to team members and clients. One of the techniques she uses is to have people share personal stories.
She urges her students to start small with a personal story where they overcame a difficult situation or obstacle. For her corporate clients, it’s not about story craft or performance. She simply wants them to experience the connection that takes place when you share your story.
    What’s your story?

Immediate Effect

Listened and applied some of Doug’s techniques to recent NYC tours. I have listened to various storytelling podcasts and it’s the first one where I was able to put multiple strategies into play for immediate positive feedback.

Looking forward to growing more!

So grateful!

I have been an admirer of Doug’s work for about 16 years now. To me, he is the go-to person for anyone who needs to sharpen their message to better communicate with their audience. Doug has such an endearing spirit about him-he can challenge you to do better without making you feel less-than. I massively recommend this podcast and all of his other resources (books and courses etc). As the locals here in California say, “He’s THE dude!”
