A truly remarkable story
A crime? The accused? Fact? Fiction? A redneck Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Full of tall tales and too much truth for this backwoods town in Alabama. The even keel of the narrator’s bland voice is required to let all the story’s characters shine through. Clock-making and whiskey-drinking, paranoia and misunderstandings, hedge mazes and azaleas, fire-gilding and mercury-poisoning, loving and losing...it’s all here with the truth lying somewhere in the murky waters of small town Alabama. Best podcast I’ve ever heard! Kudos to Brian Reed and the people of S-Town.

All the negative reviews are people who assume this is a fictional copy of Up and Vanished. If you read, this is a true story that they've worked on for years, long before U&V came out. It takes zero time to look up facts before you post stupid comments.Read full review »
