“Here’s a podcaster/interviewer who really knows how to listen and to empathise with all the parties involved, in a community which might be written off by, at the very least, the liberal elite. It’s a slow unfolding of a number of relationships, some contentious, where he manages to coax their stories from the people involved and engage the listener with something far more complex and interesting than the simple facts of the case. I started off with a sense of goodies and baddies and ended up with a much much more ambivalent and sympathetic sense of the place and the people. It is masterly!”
