Ugh
I love the Obsessed Network and Patrick so I was super excited to try this podcast, but I quickly became so disappointed. I really question the host’s motives, and her constant attempts to be funny, woke, or sarcastic really take away from the stories. I can’t even remember the stories at the end of the show. She’s truly trying too hard. Daisy is not in the least bit funny and everything comes off as either a personal vendetta or like she’s trying to prove herself. When I first listened there were a few instances I laughed out loud, like the jab at Vassar students moving to Brooklyn (I’m a Vassar grad and thought this was funny). But then she JUST kept repeating the joke and I got really confused because when I googled Daisy she is a white woman who grew up in Brooklyn and studied at Bard. She is equally privileged and trying to make some commentary on something... I really don’t get it. The repeated joke about Vassar (it falls flat the more she talks about it) just made me think she applied but didn’t get in and now she thinks it super funny to keep making that joke. Not sure. This is just one example of her trying to seem above it all (and maybe air her personal grievances) and I really think she’s out of touch with her own privilege and is making unnecessary commentary that is waaay irrelevant and takes away from the interesting stories. It’s not smart or aware.

Just listened to the first episode. I loved it. I loved that there is no cohost so there is no terrible banter. Instead, there is witty remarks and good story telling. Potential to become a new fave.

I love the idea for this podcast. However, I wish that the podcaster would just tell the story as the stories themselves are amazing and interesting. I can do without the attempts at snarky humor as it’s honestly not funny and detracts from the storytelling. So much potential and I hope the...Read full review »
