Let’s dive allllll the way in then!! CJ might not have spoken this much in his entire career, but probably for good reason. This is one of the episodes I sat back and nodded my head in agreement, the entire time. From the starting 5 waitress team, what makes a good busser, getting in the industry as a porter, leaving on your own terms, dating coworkers. “Started from the bottom now we here!” What a fitting anthem for this episode as we discuss Sebastians' entry and strategic exit from the nightlife industry. It’s hard to get in and out of these jobs, I’ll be the first to tell you. We chop it up about serving guests like up and coming Arizona Cardinals head coach, to what it’s like to serve Drake, working on Christmas Eve, to his Kobe (rip) farewell tour. I forgot some of these stories until we started talking, one of my favorite things about podcasting. Needless to say we had a lot of fun on this one! Covering bases and faces these days!! Guess who's back!? Today! Or weeks ago now, but still, today! I had the pleasure of catching up with a good friend of mine. Rapper, creator, podcaster, (and more stuff I'm sure) the very talented and always funny Ekoh. We discuss casually getting hired after auditions, performing your music at the club, dating in the industry, to hearing your music being played while you're at work, there's a lot to cover! Us two nerds became friends working together at EBC, almost started our own podcast before his career took off! You'll hear his perspective is real as it gets!! So glad to be back in action! I think I really needed a good laugh, and I knew exactly who to call! My good friend Marcus Mitchell. We recorded this at 11pm, after he put the kids to bed. That means my man gave up rare and precious silent time to be with us, salute to him for that! Forgive me in advance, but I burst out laughing/interrupting often, and yes I have zero shame about it. We discuss everything from being a father in this sexy industry, embarrassing club stories, the money changing over the years, the new Chappelle standup 8:46, and what it's like navigating this industry as a black man. It's an interesting/defining moment in time right now, and I'm grateful to have such awesome people in my life with such amazing energy. YOU WILL LAUGH.....or you have no soul. lol jk, kinda.
