Exceptionally entertaining.
I got into this podcast via a Partially Examined Life, of which Sub Text is an offshoot. Each week the two presenters discuss a ‘text’ - which can be a film, a poem, a novel, play or song - from a philosophical perspective. They Chris a particular stance from which to approach the text and then pick out those elements which contribute to the success or failure of the work. If this sounds po- faced, then it isn’t. In fact quite the opposite as Erin and her co- host discuss the subject with humour as well as insight. The range of texts is eclectic and surprising, and the discussions, even when the work is unfamiliar, is always worth listening to.

This podcast honestly intrigued me so much, and the hour felt like it was 10 minutes. I listened to pride and prejudice and it was fantastic! I highly recommend others listen to it also. It is my favorite by far. Easy 5 stars!

The way they talk about the works makes them accessible...Read full review »
