“As soon as I saw that you were interviewing Willie Nelson I had to click it up. Right off the bat I felt Willie ( not Nelson ) was overwhelmed by the legend sitting across from him ( albeit on his computer ) which is to be expected.
I didn’t feel like I was listening to a conversation. It felt like a junket interview. It felt very constructed and uneasy.
There were gaps and an absence of conversational flow. It lacked natural rhythm. Maybe this was a “one off”.
I’m a massive fan of Willie Nelson but I didn’t get the feeling from the Willie the interviewer.
He didn’t ask anything other than cliche questions. It felt like a prefab interview that constructed by someone who had read about the legend on Wikipedia.
I did listen to the end because I wanted it to get better. It never stopped being awkward.
I’ll listen to another in the hopes that this was a case of the interviewer being star struck.”
