It’s rather lacking as a true crime/ law podcast. At least one episode has a disturbing amount of victim blaming. Some episodes are really good to fall asleep to though, something about the hosts voice is relaxing as long as he’s not doing phone interviews.

Interesting cases in a poorly assembled podcast. The factual presentations of the case lack flow but are generally a concise, non biased representation. However, are interrupted with “round table discussions” that are sensationalizing and victim blaming all over the place. Interviewing witnesses,...Read full review »

Despite the journalistic credentials, I struggle to find much value in the first season beyond the usual trudging exposition and personal hot takes. Not sure these convictions are even suspect, lol.

Wish I could give a real review! Unfortunately, the first two episodes are unavailable. I haven’t tried any others.

Scott fixating on a woman keeping a diary of her sexual partners was disappointing. The way he acted as if it was the strangest thing anyone could do was extremely off putting. The woman was a victim of an unspeakable crime, it was hardly that important to the story to bring it up nearly 5 times....Read full review »

Such a horrible injustice, the good citizen Stanley was framed by the criminal justice system!!! It’s worth mentioning sat this monster stabbed an inmate to death( self defense of course) , molested a 9 year old girl, he is also a cocaine dealer. It’s terrifying how these monsters manipulate...Read full review »

I’ve intersected with a lot of parents as a volunteer. Whenever they’re feeling insecure about their parenting they talk about all the Christmas presents they bought for the kids last year. They often pull out their phone or point to a photo on the fridge of a Christmas tree with a pile of...Read full review »

A lot of not most of the recorded telephone conversations from participants are virtually inaudible. Rea shame as the cases are fascinating and presenters do a fantastic job. Clean up the audio please

As a podcast in the past, it probably would’ve been a pace setter for true crime convictions... but the production as a whole is still stuck in the past. There is a complete lack of editing background noises and there’s definitely not fine tune editing... There’s not really a background on the...Read full review »

Granted, I haven’t listened to the end yet but an entire episode debating the sexual abuse never mentions that misook maybe did it to make it appear as if a man did it?!?! Jeez...hope someone else has thought of this..

My favorite thing about this podcast is interviewing other journalists and podcast hosts. I enjoy their input about the case, and the hosts seeking the other podcast hosts perspective is wise and adds credibility them. It has introduced me to other podcasts too!

So the two jurors in this episode said some really racist stuff. “ black people are aggressive and angry” “ black people will side with black people not matter if they are right or wrong” where are these black people that they are speaking of!!! Come on now!

Cases are interesting but the awkward pauses, poor recordings, and lame interviews make this so I just can’t listen or recommend this podcast.
IamMother23 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/15/19
Silly insights. Far too many personal and unintelligent opinions. Also between the eating and pauses, is he drunk. So hard to understand him....Lots of ads....ugh.

I really enjoy this podcast. Well done straight up podcast. I like the podcasts without a bunch of music and annoying interruptions/annoying people talking. Give this podcast a try if you enjoy true crime.

The stories are interesting, but the sound quality is awful! Is it done on purpose? When the host is on the phone, he sounds like he’s calling from another planet. Fix the sound and I’ll give it five stars,

Eh
I really enjoyed this podcast for the first season. After that I have been less than impressed. I download each episode and some I listen to, some I don’t. This is one of those podcasts I love because of the content. It’s well researched, accurate work. I always look forward to each episodes. But sometimes the production value isn’t as good as others. Is the interviewer eating while questioning people? This would be a great story...but I can’t listen to the eating and heavy breathing. Why would you produce something this bad?

I love ❤️ this podcast, but please don’t interview someone with food in your mouth. It’s hard to hear the questions and answers.

This story is really interesting and I’ve listened to it but honestly... is this guy eating popsicles or something while he’s speaking? Especially this last episode omg that’s all you can hear while the first interviewer is talking. I had to fast forward it was so awful. Mute yourself, please.

Liked the first season. Have no idea why he would put up his recorded ads. THEY ARE TERRIBLE. Feel sorry for anyone advertising with this podcast. The narrator/host is too radio-guy-ish, upbeat, etc to be narrating a crime podcast. I can’t listen to it. He spoke too fast for me to let the murder details sink in.

Scott Reeder definitely has a voice that could age cheese. Yes. It’s that bad. There should be a disclaimer before each episode. There adverts are unbearable. Beyond that, it’s a good podcast that seems to be well researched.

Scott Reeder’s nasal voice and nose whistling and dry mouth are so very distracting and annoying. Please back off from the mic when your guest is speaking and drink some liquid to stay hydrated and cut out dairy. Like the content but all the above is really making me want to quit listening. Thanks
