Mersha Asrat is the co-coach of Kenenisa Bekele who is a three-time Olympic champion and former world record holder in the 5000m and 10000m on the track. Kenenisa Bekele is also the second fastest of all time over the Marathon and considered one of the greatest distance runners of all time.
Mersha holds a Masters of Sports Science at the University of Addis Ababa and coaches a strong group of emerging Ethiopian athletes in Addis Ababa area.
