“Honestly still thinking about episode 5 “predations of the depraved” and Robert explaining the adolescent development of “constructing an imaginary audience” and “performing for that audience” and relating it to Jessica. This stuck such a cord with me as this was something I did ALL THE TIME as a young adult as I tried to figure out not only who I was, but who I was in relation to those around me (or those I wanted around me) and who I thought I should be for those people. This episode in particular really made me think, but all the episodes are great! I’ve been a huge sweet valley fan and it’s so fun to listen to these books and hear the analysis and make me rediscover them again, not only as a fun thing but to think of them in a more serious way as well. Really loving this podcast and hoping it’s around for the long haul!!!”
