Really enjoyed the recent MdS episode, great questions and good insight into a big change in the community. After listening I am excited to attend MdS in the future again. Thanks Ian

Yes it’s about running but it’s far too serious! It’s only running! I’m an ultra runner and yes I take it really seriously but gosh it’s about having fun on the way. The last thing we want is a podcast taking themselves way too seriously!

If you are a conservative and a Trump supporter. Ian despises you. I just received a very hostile email response from him after I expressed my concern over his comments about politics. There is no escape...not even my trail running podcasts. If you are a conservative American, you are listening...Read full review »

Some excellent guests and enjoy Karl’s input when he can get a word in. Would prefer less info on Ian’s itinerary and more from the runners themselves. Wouldn’t mind mixing up the elite perspective with a few interviews directed towards normal runners to have a few takeaways to improve our own...Read full review »

Used to be good but lost interest a few years ago. Guests aren’t as good anymore and Speedgoat Carl (co host) is hardly on, and he was the best part. And Ian (host) loves himself too much.

Motivating and inspiring.

All around great interviews by Ian. Great commentary by Speedgoat Karl. Newer co-interviews from the “godfather of trails” will continue to improve we hope. Without this show I would not know much about all the great international races and fell/sky running. Thanks Ian!

Ian may have a lot to say, as described by a few reviews, but that’s his skill. His knowledge is such that he gets the best out of the interviews. Great podcast and a little ‘dare I say’ inspirational at times.

I like this podcast but it can be a bit frustrating. Whenever he's intereviewing an amazing woman, he won't let them speak. In a 10 minute inteview, he will speak for 7 minutes and the interviewee will only get to speak for 3 minutes. It's frustrating that he won't let the...Read full review »

As an ultrarunner, I come back to this podcast from time to time to give it another chance. And each time, I remember why I abandoned it. Most recently, the interview with Karl Meltzer pulled me in. Who doesn't want to hear about Speedgoat's amazing feat on the AT? Instead, it was an...Read full review »

Talk Ultra's podcasts frequently come in over 3 hours. Talk Ultra has great interviewees however the interview questions are not particulalry inspiring and one is left wondering what one was listening to for the last three hours. I have listened to every episode of TalkUltra and much of the information I have learned about the sport has come from the show. Ian is a fantastic ambassador of the sport and SpeedGoat is a great touch. Thanks for all the miles of info and company. Keep up the great work!

Good audio quality, awesome content (eg long interviews with athletes, regular features such as Smiles & Miles with Emelie Forsberg) - this is a fantastic podcast, great for listening to in car, while doing housework or indeed while out on a run!

The content is great, but I rarely listen because it's just so long. It would be great if the episodes were broken up into 30min to an hour segments. Any more than an hour and the podcast becomes impossible to listen to. Unless of course your the type of person who likes to listen on there...Read full review »

Along with sister podcast Marathon Talk, this podcast is a must listen. Geared for the ultra distance runner or enthusiast, the show covers all the major races and highlights some of the characters in the sport. The addition of Speedgoat Karl has been great.
