Good… But not great.

This is a good logistics podcast. I listen to it every morning when I take my walk. However, they do nothing different from other such logistics podcasts. They interview a representative from a logistics company and then about 45 minutes to an hour spent in a kind of rambling discussion. It’s a promo for the company and therefore the entirety of the conversation becomes a circular exercise in ego gratification. What the listener wants to know, is: what can I learn from this podcast? Are there any specific applications that I can take from this podcast? In this respect, this podcast and others essentially forget who their audience is. The best supply chain and logistics podcast that I’ve heard comes from Cranfield university in England. Also, what’s left out completely is the public sector. I haven’t found a logistics podcast that has discussed FEMA disaster relief. Hurricane Katrina, for example, is a case study in disaster logistics. How about the earthquake in Haiti? There was definitely logistics involved there. Or how about military logistics?
