Description
For this episode of The All-Around Adventure Podcast, I talk with former US Marine, archer, master bowmaker, and survival expert, Correy Hawk.
Correy has an extensive and diverse background. He joined the Marine Corps at the age of 20 and served for four years. During that time he went on a couple of deployments to the Middle East to work as a Motor Transport Operator. Following his service, he dove into his passion for archery and the outdoors. A passion that led him to begin building and selling traditional wooden longbows through his brand, Organic Archery.
Correy also had some other incredible adventures along the way. One of which was being selected as a participant for season 7 of History Channel's survival series Alone. Where he was transported to a remote location in the arctic and expected to survive by himself for 100 days! Although he endured many challenges during that experience, Correy found that there was also a lot of value in being immersed in the wild. Such as not having to constantly be distracted by a smartphone, or other forms of technology.
In this episode, Correy tells us more about his story. He shares some of his amazing adventures from his time in the Marine Corps and participating on Alone! We also have some great discussions on traditional archery, bowmaking, getting out in the wild, digital minimalism, and much more!
