Heal farms episode
Wanted to listen to enlightening conversation about restorative farming on a long walk and instead came back feeling insulted and really reluctant to listen again. The guest, when referring to vegan or vegetarian diets, basically scoffed and said “read some books”. After telling us the horror story , his word “horrific” , about chicken farming, he said moments later people who can’t get healthfully raised chicken should still be eating meat, even the horrific disgusting grocery store version??? What??? Then to say he loves a good debate, when asked if a vegan questioned him on ethical issue of slaughter, he proceeded to tell how big Agro kills rodents, rabbits , etc, poisons there crops etc, no mention of Big Agro meat and the destruction, torture , cruelty involved, both to animals and immigrant workers in the slaughter business. Seemed incredibly elitist, I was so disappointed. And for Dr Cole to repeatedly mock vegetarians who eat fish, like they are ignorant and do not label themselves properly as pescatarians, once again elitism is showing. And so maybe this is my unknowing, maybe this podcast is for the “G-freaking-P’s”, out there, not the rest of us. Let’s have Dr Michael Greger and Dan Buettner on to have a discussion with the brother in law and let’s see how often he scoffs at plant based diets. Very disappointed.
