Robert Mayes might be a little to excited about the nuances of football. However it really works when he is passing along soo many good nuggets and knowledge about the game. He has been a top podcaster from grant land to the athletic. His old cohost still podcast, but Mr Mayes is the voice I...Read full review »

I have enjoyed listening to Mays since his time at Grantland. His energy and enthusiasm are infectious, plus I love his infatuation with O-line play. Nate Tice and Lindsay Jones bring great perspective and are excellent in their own ways too. I always set aside time for this podcast. While they...Read full review »

I love that you guys analyze big plays from games since it provides a lot more insight than most sports podcasts. I wonder if there was a way you could create content for people who love football but want to learn more of the vocabulary? What are the specifics of a Tampa 2 defense, what is the...Read full review »

Robert & Nate share a rare ability to break down film in audio form (not easy!) - and much of that is due to the joy and genuine excitement they bring to the table. It’s awesome, and makes me smile. I’ve been a football fan my whole life and have learned more real lessons about the sport...Read full review »

As a football junkie this podcast hits all sweet spots. Robert and Nate do an awesome job of breaking down plays and schemes and making it interesting and digestible. You can hear how much fun they’re having. And I love the weekly shows with Lindsay Jones who has her finger on the pulse of the...Read full review »

These guys discuss the actual football that was played. They don’t overdo it with rote and meandering summaries of the news like many other NFL podcasts, and I’ve actually *learned* some Xs and Os along the way. The show also has interviews with beat reporters to get parts of a story that could...Read full review »

Seriously, one of my favorite podcasts. Robert’s enthusiasm is genuine, and the various guests on throughout the week each bring something different to the table.

The in-depth analysis you get from Mays and his crew here cannot be beat. They aren’t gonna give you starts and sits (well except for the Friday pod which I don’t listen too)...but the analysis will give you the tools to make your own decisions better.

The podcast had a great culture and really knows how to collaborate. I wish they would swear MORE. How else do you talk about the Bears?!

If you want to understand why games were won or lost, why plays worked or didn’t; whether it was scheme, matchups, play design or individual brilliance - then this is the podcast for you. Robert Mays is an established writer but combines with Nat Tice to help you get inside the game. It is the...Read full review »

A few years back, I was listening to podcast put out by The Ringer, with Robert Mays, Kevin Clark and Mike Lombardi. At that time, I thought Lombardi was the best. Now, all three of these guys are on different podcasts. I have moved Mays up into the No. 1 spot, and Lombardi is No. 2. Kevin Clark...Read full review »

Really enjoy this show, and appreciate both the insights from Robert and his guests as well as the occasional swear word. Gets in depth without getting lost in the reeds, which is lacking in a lot of other football pods.

I watch a decent bit of all-22 for my job and it’s crazy how many things are brought up throughout this show that I can recall seeing or I eventually see. Really cool when I can recognize that when Nate/Ted talk about it with Robert. Probably a very good sign of the quality of this show. It also...Read full review »

Robert is absolutely the best NFL podcaster. He’s knowledgeable, blends new age analytics with old school philosophy. And he’s a tortured fan.(Bears) so he’s relatable.

Really likeable host and guests that deliver excellent breakdowns of all things football. My favorite part is game to game breakdowns that offer well thought out insight not just hot takes. For people who want to feed the brain with advanced football talk on strategy and scheme.

Sad that they feel they have to use profanity in their podcasts. That says something about the character of the individual or lack of.

For the longest time, The Ringer NFL Show was my go to podcast because of how knowledgeable Robert is on every facet of the game. As soon as he moved over to The Ringer, it became my new go to. Articulate and insightful hosts, with knowledge of the game that goes well beyond the average NFL reporter / analyst. Listening to Robert Mays and Nate Tice on Mondays is a perfect start to the week - I always learn something (and not just about the weekend’s results).

I’ve been listening to Robert Mays’ podcast since he was with Grantland and as consistent he is with his opening line he is with his hosting. He’s knowledgeable and curious and a good interviewer. Lindsay Jones is on occasionally and is always great. I think she should be on more.
