“Edit: I spoke too soon. The episode on resistance training vs. cardio is not evidence-based. Sigma nutrition covers the myth about muscle and metabolism very well by delving into the actual research…unfortunately the evidence is glossed over here with research studies being loosely mentioned and then more or less dismissed because the metabolism is “the most complex thing ever.” Furthermore, it’s ironic that he starts off saying that we’re eating for the wrong reasons (taste rather than nutrition) and exercising for the wrong reasons (calorie burn rather than health) but completely fails to see the irony of then devaluing cardio because it makes us more “efficient” - well, yes, because it improves our cardiovascular fitness, which is the point, and why it’s so good for you! Really irresponsible advice. Love the approach…just heard a real nugget of wisdom: be wary of people who tie their businesses/identities to a specific training or nutrition modality (which can lead them to discount contradictory studies/evidence). I stopped listening to a fasting podcast for this very reason…too much cherry-picking of data. So happy to find you guys!”
