Love it
This podcast is amazing. Bill is spectacular at what he does- asking guests brilliant questions and engaging in real discussions about life and sports. My only knock is that Bill complains too much about player empowerment and modern day athletes. Please stop with the complaining, Bill. You sound like those “back in my day...” kind of annoying old men who are nostalgic about the ancient times. Just accept it Bill - young people today are wired differently and that’s just the way it is. So please just discontinue the whining about how players (especially NBA players) are empowered, and how their contracts are big and how sportswriters can’t criticise players and how players are being supposed villains because they want to move to a winning situation and the fans are upset that they lost a franchise player. Stop it. Please stop it. The world is different in this day and age, and the internet is a big factor into why players do this and of course, they want to expand themselves. This is a capitalist society, Bill. Players want to make money and be successful. The players owe the fan base and franchise nothing except sentimental feelings. Star players move all the time and demand trades. Were you criticising Kyrie Irving when he demanded a trade and got sent to your beloved Boston Celtics? Or were you happy to have KI play on your team? Let the players do what they want. The NBA is more interesting with story lines and player movement.
