Bill Simmons signed the Anthony Davis of podcasts!
I am here to tell you that I was never a Russillo fan...Until now. It's not like I didn't like the guy, it's just that on Espn with SVP I had to turn it off multiple times because I got so tired of hearing a <before we say something about this topic we have to put out there we don't mean to offend a certain group> I understand the restrictions Tv & radio adhere to more now with the birth of podcasts, and I actually believe the death of radio is imminent because of this. As the Podfather Simmons already knows, if you want to meet the real person, podcast format is the only way to do this. So.....back to RR. The man is a genius. Comes across as a regular guy with infinite wisdom in Sports and outside knowledge of things people actually care about because it's honest with little BS, no pun intended. The real effectiveness is the mix of straight shooter appeal with a killer sense of humor that really portrays the perfect "on air", er, podcast personality. As a result, I look forward to Ryen & Bill's segment each week above anything else, and it's not even close! Speaking of Bill, who I've been following since he was just a peon(just an expression) still living and writing in Boston, I really do wish he'd take the next step and apply for the GM position of the Lakers, because he has the real magic to do the job properly and put the right people around him who will be successful. Thanks you for the entertainment, Sports Guy! --Grando Raine Cincinnati, OHRead full review »
