Sherman Johnson, AKA Coach Sherm or Sherm, is a natural leader. He's played at every level of baseball and became a hitting instructor with the Orioles last year. This season, at the age of 33, Sherm accepted the position of Upper-Level Hitting Coordinator. Sherm works with every level within the organization. While he is gaining experience daily, I was in Norfolk to see him work with the hard-hitting Tides. I marveled at his ability to relate to the young prospects while commanding their attention during instruction. He has earned respect among the vets, who are very close to his age.
