Really ? Scooby Doo where am I ?
It is difficult to tell what the producer of this series intended. It initially pretends to be an investigation but quickly devolves in to an attempt at entertainment along the lines of a mock-umentry. Only one of the jokes seemed funny and that was the discussion of some kind of Code of Ethics for journalism. It keeps getting lost as to what it wants to be. The result is a kind of low brow audio X-files audio knock off. It would have been better to have more than two script readers who played all the different characters. Also it constantly refers to the Scientific Method and Logic while not understanding either. Final effect is a bad Scooby Doo cartoon with no visuals and no canned laughter.

More reviews of The Black Tapes
I'm already in love with this podcast! It's very much in the style of Serial, but with a paranormal focus. Well produced, and I'm enjoying the overarching mystery of Strand and events in his past.Read full review »

Audio is always way creepier than video and this one delivers. Keep the light on....

Great podcast. Very interesting narrative on investigating the stories and people involved in the paranormal world. Particularly captivated with the character Dr. Richard Strand. This has me hooked. I want to know more about the black tapes.
