John J. Miller is the best interviewer I’ve ever encountered as I’ve enjoyed this podcast over the years. His expertise is on display as invariably his guests will assert, “That’s a great question!” And his great questions lead to great insights regarding current books and authors. Thank you.

I’ve been listening every week for about three years, and I just learned how to leave a review! JJ selection of books and delightful interviews are always interesting. Also consider his other podcast “Great Books” a longer podcast of many of those classics we should never forget! Thank you for...Read full review »

John J. Miller is a great interviewer and uses this podcast to review new book releases. His recent 12-minute interview of Russ Roberts about his book Wild Problems is a good example of a concise overview of the book and its purpose that made me want to read it.

In your episode descriptions, can’t you give us just a little more information about the book? More than just the title? Sometimes the titles barely hint at the subject of the book.

I am also a big fan of Mr. Miller’s Great Books podcast. This is a different approach. Short conversations with authors of recently released books. While there is no way for a busy person to read EVERY book, you’ll find a couple of gems and definitely learn something about a wide range of issues.

Short overviews are a great service for those in a hurry! Thank you!

Why are the interviews only ten minutes? This isn’t radio; it’s a podcast. Podcasts have gained popularity because time constraints were lifted and depth and understanding became the goal.

This has become one of my three go-to podcasts. Excellent!

I love that John Miller is able to give a very short introduction to a book I may want to pick up. It’s length makes it accessible in short bursts but gives enough information for me to decide whether or not to add the book to my List.

Great book podcast, need more culture reviews from a conservative perspective like this. Keep up the great work!!

Wonderful podcast focusing on books for the conservative thinker. As a major consumer of books who always looks for quality material to put on the ever-changing and growing reading list, I’m glad this resource finally exists. One suggestion I would make is to include a sentence that states what...Read full review »

As a librarian, this is one of my favorite podcasts. The reviews are short, but packed with plenty of information for your next read. You won’t be disappointed.

There are so many so called "book review" podcasts out there. Most of them are people just talking about cleaning desks or other random stuff in life. Nothing wrong with that but WHAT THAT GOT TO DO WITH BOOK REVIEW?? Mr. Miller's program is short, to the point and really about a...Read full review »

Listening to the Bookmonger keeps me up to date on new Conservative books by a range of talented authors. Highly recommended as each podcast is typically 15 minutes or less so you can spend more of your time reading (or working). 5/5

...the sound quality (particularly that of the guest authors) is not very good. It’s quite difficult to hear that side of the discussion.

There are not enough shorter podcasts around and this one is perfect for book lovers looking for new reads — and to get a quick understanding of what would be good to check out. One of the many outstanding podcasts from NR!

John Miller does a great job with quick interviews of authors. These podcasts are short and to the point. In his The Bookmonger podcast, John J. Miller interviews authors of new releases.

Wonderful discussion with author David Bahnsen. Will read this book based on the issues surfaced in this podcast. Speaking of the same, John Miller’s two (2) podcasts Great Books and The Bookmonger are consistently superb. I encourage others to give-it-a go.

The Bookmonger works hard at bringing all kinds of books (serious and pop) and their authors to a 10 minute conversation . He nearly always asks questions I want to ask. Listen.
Riskmanster via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 07/03/17
Miller's interviews are concise and to the point. You'll know what you need to know about the book to decide if you want to read it, and know something about the subject and author, all in 10 minutes. Bravo.Read full review »

It's so good, there's so many unsuspected, fascinating books that John J Miller digs up on such diverse subjects that I went out and bought his own book The First Assassin. It was great too. My title — "Fast food for the mind" — is meant as a simple description and as a compliment. Bookmonger host John J.
