Fast food for the mind (good fast food!)
My title — "Fast food for the mind" — is meant as a simple description and as a compliment. Bookmonger host John J. Miller, author and journalist, has a gift for introducing a large topic quickly by asking his guest simple questions (for example, "Who is H.L. Mencken? When did he live? Why is he important?"); but after establishing the outlines of the topic he is always able to penetrate a little deeper. I've listened to a lot of these (mostly on the web) and today I realized I ought to listen to them more often. I recommend the podcast.Read full review »

...the sound quality (particularly that of the guest authors) is not very good. It’s quite difficult to hear that side of the discussion.
