TRAILER: The Gatherings Order
In 1918–19 an influenza pandemic took an estimated 15,000 Australian lives, and millions more around the world. One hundred years on, as we grapple with COVID-19, this five-part series rakes through the archives of the State Library of NSW with historians, public health experts and scientists to trace the path of the 1918-19 pandemic. NSW State Library makes first-class podcasts, and this one of their best. Fascinating account of Sydney’s history that’s detailed and super accessible. Brilliant.
Highly recommended if you’re interested in Sydney
Stumbled upon this podcast by chance and I was so pleasantly surprised at how well produced, fascinating, and insightful the show was. As a newly frequent patron of the state library, I didn’t know about these podcasts series you guys produced until very recently. I wish there would be more advertising or articles about them so more people would know about the great work the state library’s curators have done.
Wonderful podcast
If a historic cemetery and its adventures is of interest to you you have just struck gold.
